Unlike what one would normally imagine a rescuing spirits experience would be – dark, dangerous, sticky, battling, I found it possible for it to be a gentle and loving experience.

When this young man from Bolivia who I’ll call Armando contacted me, I was not sure how sincere he was for a hypnotherapy session, as his written English was so broken that I almost thought it was a spam email.

Needles And Hypnosis

Back in March this year, I walked into My Rest Acupuncture Studio on Main Street at 18th Avenue Vancouver. I was surprised. As beautiful, tranquil, and peaceful as the open room was, it was just, open! A few massage tables quietly bathed in soothing music and restful energy. I asked my collaboration partner Ala Wroblewska R.Ac, SSE, “How does it actually work, with multiple people being treated in the same room?” Ala looked at me, and replied, “Well, you know, in China, where acupuncture treatment started, it has always been this way.”

Finding Personal Power in a Small Life

I remembered at the beginning of our session, Nancy specifically said she wanted to release other people’s expectations of her, and the inner impression from others that says “your opinion doesn’t matter”. Maybe “power” means something completely different from the soul’s perspective. At one level, I almost felt apologetic to Nancy that the lifetime we went was so drama-less - like my client bought a ticket for a past life story, and I was not delivering a proper show.

Awakening Human

One day, my 13-and-half-year-old client asked me, “Why does one unwanted thought stick in my head for long? Other good thoughts don’t?”

I found that a very genuine authentic observation, actually a very wise question. I had to think for a moment. And I answered him that the unreal thoughts have to be louder and stickier, to work harder to appear it’s real. What is real doesn’t have to be loud, because it is already real – that we hear it or not doesn’t change its reality.

The Path Not Travelled

Is the path we haven’t traveled better or worse? It’s a decision we make in our minds. As a physical being, we can only choose one path at a time. Therefore, it’s always wise to decide the path I have chosen, or I will choose, is the best one.

Teardrop Speaks

Brenda’s Teardrop is her ego. The ego is the mind-made entity that consists of a bundle of thoughts that occur frequently. In the bundle of thoughts are all the things that we’ve identified with ourselves – job positions, relationships, accomplishments, disappointments, our successes and failures, what other people think of us, all those thoughts form in the mind. They come together and congregate in a bundle. These congregated bundles of recurring thoughts become the place where we derive our sense of self. It is a story-based entity – The Me and my story. And the story is called “My Life”. My life becomes a mental construct. The way we interpret memories.

I had a Skype session with a client during my travels in Venice Italy. It took me some extra time to get everything ready as connecting to the Internet didn’t go smoothly. I was six minutes late for the online appointment.

But finally I was on. I was glad. And my client seemed to be relieved too. So I said sorry, I didn’t mean to be late. I was about to tell her about the hard time that I had sorting out the wi-fi connection in Italian.

Another Type of Past Life Regression

Samantha brought to our appointment her presenting issue – panic attacks and anxiety. They had always been with her, but got intensified as she was trying to have a baby.

As usual, I never initiate the concept of “past lives” to my clients. It was not until our third session that Samantha started to mention, almost in a negative way, that “past life stuff” couldn’t be true.

It alerted me. I find whenever a person initiates a subject; this person has a subconscious curiosity or even a fascination of it, regardless how the conscious mind may think and judge the subject.

Samantha admitted that she was fascinated by it, but was not sure whether she should believe in reincarnation or not.
