The Fountainhead of My Inspiration

On the surface level of the storyline, it is a book about how an artist, an architect, chose to stay true to his art and his work, no matter how hard it could get and how many shortcuts were offered. On a deeper level, it was quite philosophical. The author, Ayn Rand, was considered a philosopher as much as a writer. Yet, there’s even more depth to it. As my soul was resonating with Howard, his calm nature, his matter-of-factness, his sovereignty… He stood for our own perfect and self-sufficient spiritual nature.

A Love Story Unlike Any Other

Alexander Formos wrote his new book Eurydice in Love with great courage, honesty, and soulful clarity. Currently, I'm only on chapter III but I am enjoying his bold and unbelievable story-telling style through the pages. Reading the book provides a perfect little break in my office after seeing my clients and before heading home.

But honestly, I never felt compelled to read it, imagining there might be more hype and political importance than an actual good book.

Have you seen the 2016 English-language French-produced computer animated movie The Little Prince yet? – A Little Girl meets an eccentric old Aviator who tells her a fantastic tale about a young prince…

I enjoyed the movie, almost as much as the original classic tale. The new movie stays true to the original message of how fake we have built the world to be, and how tender our innocence is. That was moving.

Strange Terrain in the Endless Frontier of the Mind

My curiosity of the phenomenon of multiple personalities, "exorcism" and thought form release led me to this book. Ralph Allison, a psychiatrist starting practicing in 1972, a pioneer treating multiple personality disorder patients and a daring soul, wrote this quite interesting case history book. Can you imagine a middle class, crew-cut, straight, Board-certified psychiatrist conducts exorcism? He had the courage to stand up to his professional peers when they threatened to throw him off of a hospital staff because he dared use unconventional therapy techniques such as hypnosis, now a major instrument of cure for many persons with MPD.

Freedom in Pain

The sensation of pain is simply a signal to tell us some important information. Like a red light on a car dashboard telling us the fuel level is low. We can, of course, do something to disconnect the light signal so it stops, but that can be dangerous if the car is running on the road. When you fill in fuel, the signal automatically goes off.

Book Review: The Unquiet Dead

I just finished reading Dr. Edith Fiore's fascinating clinical case book The Unquiet Dead: A Psychologist Treats Spirit Possession, which was first published in 1987. The foreword is by Raymond A. Moody, Jr. M.D. This was really a frontier book of this kind, I mean, spirit depossession by a psychologist not a "psychic"! - It's funny though, when I say a "psychologist not a psychic", it feels as if it gives more credibility as there's "science" component in it; but does it really? Dr. Fiore's spirit depossession work was based on hypotism, up till today, a lot of people still think hypnotism makes no difference from woo-woo, not a real "science".

Nevertheless, Edith Fiore does have a doctorate degree and that makes her more scientific than a lot of us.
